Is there a better classic long-distance tourer than the Mercedes S-Class W140 series? It is hard to imagine one!
The sophisticated coupé version is even more refined than the sedans. Coupé production accounted for less than 8% of the total W140 output; notably, the smaller V8 coupé—with only 2,496 units built—is by far the rarest standard production version of the entire 140 series.
Our CL 420 was originally delivered in Karlsruhe and was most recently registered in Hamburg to a long-standing client, on whose behalf we are now offering the vehicle.
Its condition is astonishingly good. The wood trim and leather upholstery are flawless. The interior boasts a level of preservation rarely found in modern cars; the W140s were engineered and built without compromise or cost-cutting—truly phenomenal quality! Hats off!
The paintwork impresses with a uniform, consistent finish. Mechanically, the car performs flawlessly and reliably. Simply the perfect car for touring!
