Description
This exceptionally beautiful "Pagoda" was originally registered in the USA.
The earliest documents originate from California and date back to 1986. From at least 1987 onwards, the SL was owned by Theodor W. of California.
Our client purchased the Mercedes from his wife in 2001.
It was imported into Germany in June 2001. The owner—on whose behalf we are now offering the 280 SL—never registered the vehicle in Germany.
However, the car always received the care it deserved; in 2011, the firm Automobile Hahn in Bargfeld-Stegen carried out extensive work on the 280. The multi-page invoice, totaling approximately €55,000, is included in the file. A CD containing a photographic record of the work will be provided to the buyer.
As part of the 2011 refurbishment, the interior was re-upholstered in leather. During this process, the upholsterer converted the door pockets to the European specification.
New bumpers were fitted in July 2026 for aesthetic reasons.
