Description
The Maserati Bora we are offering is one of only 571 models of this type produced between 1972 and 1978.
The example presented here was purchased in 1978 in Luxembourg as a five-year-old used car by a Maserati enthusiast, who later had it restored by Autosport srl in Bologna in collaboration with the Maserati factory. The restoration was completed in 1990.
A copy of a multi-page invoice is available, showing an astonishing sum of 121,315,730 Lire. Converted, this was approximately DM 121,000. A truly impressive sum some 35 years ago!
According to the last owner, the Bora was subsequently inspected and serviced annually by a classic car specialist in Linz. In 2016, the owner took the Bora to a Ferrari and Maserati authorized dealer for a final check before handing the sports car, with around 1,400 kilometers on the odometer, over to our customer.
He used the car only for special occasions over nearly ten years, resulting in a mere 1,477 kilometers on the odometer.
Today, the Bora is in excellent condition. Even now, the meticulous care taken during the restoration and the loving attention this Italian classic has received are evident.
The copper metallic paintwork with the brushed stainless steel roof and beige leather interior suits the car perfectly and is wonderfully period-correct!
