Description
Shortly after the important, major model update for the Mercedes SL R107 models, a company in Vilshofen received this Mercedes 300 SL as a new car.
The 300 was registered to this company J.E. on June 27, 1986 - and used until the 300 was deregistered. The company still seems to exist today, but with a different manager. It is probably the son of the then operations manager, who was able to enjoy our SL for so long.
Only a few kilometers have been added since 2011.
The condition is quite unusually original. Our paint layer meter does not detect any repainting. Only on the left front fender are there partially slightly increased values.
The carpet, the leather, and probably even the top are still original.
A good indicator of low mileage on the 300 SL is always the thermostat housing. Made from plastic from the factory, it proved not to be particularly durable and was usually quickly replaced with a cast aluminum part. Our SL still has the original plastic part!
Another good indicator of the mileage, in addition to written evidence, are the tires. In our case, they are from 2000 and 2001 - and all still have a very good profile. However, if you wish, we will be happy to fit four new tires before handing over the vehicle!
It is amazing how agile a 300 SL can be when it has the wonderful 5-speed manual transmission instead of the automatic transmission that is usually ordered. At least the chronicler was quite amazed!
