The next owner was a nice guy who parked the SL he had just purchased in a rented garage. With around 8,000 km on the odometer.
Now there are very impatient parking space landlords, rather patient, extremely long-suffering ones - and the landlord of the space where our SL was parked. Because the owner of the SL disappeared without ever paying the parking space costs. Attempts at contact came to nothing. But the owner of the shelter wasn't the hectic kind.
And he waited for his tenant. And waited. Waited a bit more. There were repeated attempts to somehow reach the adjuster, but all without success. And before you knew it, 28 years had passed. Twenty eight. Years. The parking space tenant remained and remains untraceable.
Now the landlord wanted to get some money to keep the Mercedes and took the necessary steps to maintain ownership of the 320 so that he could then sell it.
One of our customers was lucky enough to be offered the SL 320 and took it straight away. The 320 survived the absolutely dry storage exceptionally well.
However, the Mercedes obviously needed a lot of attention. The 320 was treated to a new battery, an oil change, new brake fluid, a new alternator, new fuel pump and new spark plugs. A careful recommissioning of the entire technology and processing were also necessary.
Our customer covered around 1,000 kilometers with the SL 320 in order to essentially run the car in again. In the end he decided to part with the SL. We are now offering the jewel on behalf of this customer.
If someone wants to actually drive this SL and not just store it away, it is absolutely necessary to replace the tires currently installed. Because all five are the tires that were fitted at the factory in 1993! Not really roadworthy today, but a real highlight for the collector!
The car actually looks like a year-old car. The leather, the paint, the wood - extremely remarkable.
