When the chronicler got to know this extremely rare car and learned that it was in private (!) hands from the time it was first registered until 2024, there was great amazement and the question was obvious: why on earth would a doctor's assistant drives around in a car like this for around half a century ?!

We were contacted by the seller's son, who described the condition of the Mercedes to us absolutely honorably, sent photos and regretfully emphasized the mother's intentions to sell.

The car was purchased brand new by his father, a doctor from Lemgo, registered in September 1973 and shortly afterwards transferred to his wife, said doctor's assistant, born in 1943, as part of a move to Bad Salzuflen.

The astonished question to the saleswoman as to why a private person would even consider buying such a Mercedes with at least eight seats, which was otherwise used as a hotel taxi, airport shuttle or, in Turkey, for example, as a dolmus, was answered with one with a loving look at her son: We had to transport some more kids !

The S. family from Bad Salzuflen used to drive in a Mercedes /8 series. The 230.6/8 in long followed a 220 D (with normal wheelbase). Parents, children and luggage could be accommodated comfortably.

The lady of the house is obviously very loyal....she kept her husband until today and this wonderful, long /8 until she sold it to us !

We saw it as a real privilege to be entrusted with this twelfth family member and are now looking for a new adoptive family for the Mercedes.

The condition can only be described as extremely original. Apparently still largely in its original paint, inside fantastically preserved, mechanically sound. This is how we want classic car finds !

After handing over the stretch limousine, we were able to drive from Bad Salzuflen to Kropp without any problems. This tour was a real pleasure !

Our trusted workshop carries out maintenance and the entire underbody was cleaned with dry ice. The excellent condition of the sheet metal could be impressively demonstrated.

Mercedes produced exactly 1,131 examples of this model. It is difficult to imagine another 230.6/8 long surviving in this condition and with a comparable history for long.
