Model History
On September 20, 1995, the first BMW Z3 rolled off the production line. It was the first BMW that was built entirely and exclusively outside of Germany. For this reason, the Z3 was also specially developed for the new plant in the USA. More than 60% of the installed parts come from North America. become less dependent on exchange rate fluctuations.
Production of the roadster started with the four-cylinder model Z3 Roadster 1.8 and 1.9. BMW placed this in the James Bond film "GoldenEye". In 1996 the product range was expanded to include the Z3 Roadster 2.8 with a straight six cylinder, which i.a. can be recognized by wider rear fenders and two position lights in the front bumper.
