Description
The verifiable history of this Healey goes back to its first delivery to Leeds in England in 1967.
The Healey remained there until 1969, when he made his home in Denton. The original "Registration Book" has been preserved. The color “Green” is already mentioned as the paint finish of the Austin.
There appear to have been only two owners in Great Britain, then another four in Germany. For the age of the vehicle in question, this is a pleasingly small number, especially since two of the owners are pleased with the fact that it has been kept for a very long time!
Various mileages are handwritten in the original operating instructions. The sale is recorded for July 1984 at 98,097 miles.
The first German document is an emissions test document from 1986. The owner at that time was Mr. B. from Wiesbaden. Mr. B. only resold the Big Healey in 2001.
However, he had invested enormously beforehand. Various invoices from 1986 show us that the car was completely restored by the then very renowned company Kuprianoff Motors in Karlsruhe. In addition to numerous invoices, there are also many photos and worksheets documenting the work carried out.
A full folder, which can of course be viewed during a visit to our house, documents the history of Austin very clearly. Included are all vehicle registration documents in the original or as a copy with all owners, some TÜV reports and, above all, countless invoices for a wide variety of work that has been carried out on the Healey over the years. A hand-written "curriculum vitae" from 1989 sheds light on the history of the car as well.
In addition, we have three appraisals from different years (approx. 1997, May 2008, September 2014), each of which attest to the good condition of our Austin Healey.
On behalf of the current owner - he purchased the Healey in 2011 - we are now offering the car.
In 1967 only 3,051 Austin healey 3000 MK IIIs were manufactured, probably the lion's share for export with left-hand drive.
So our car is a rather rare right-hand drive. which impresses with its extremely beautiful condition. The paint is fantastic, the chrome is very nice, the interior is excellent, the technology makes an absolutely convincing impression!
The sidepipes give the engine a sensational sound, the start of the Big Healey always puts a big grin on the chronicler's face, the driving behavior is wonderfully gnarly and you are happy about the easy-to-shift gearbox, which shines with the switchable overdrive.
For the last few years the Healey has been serviced in highly reputable workshops specializing in classic British sports cars in northern Germany. This is evidenced by many invoices and even a “service logbook” from a workshop. There is, among other things, a compression diagram from August 2020 with extremely good, even values.
The bottom line is that we have a fantastically large Healey in exceptionally good condition at a price for which it would be absolutely impossible to prepare a Healey today.
