Model History
The Lamborghini Urraco was a 2 + 2-seater mid-engine coupe, produced by the Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini from 1973 to 1979.
The Urraco had a self-supporting all-steel body and like the Ferrari a mid-engine. As with the Miura, the engine was installed transversely to the direction of travel in front of the rear axle.
The body of the Urraco was designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone. The Urraco was - similar to the also designed by Bertone Ferrari 308 GT4 - a so-called 2 + 2-seater with two emergency seats behind the driver and passenger seats. This approach, together with the mid-engine concept, was responsible for unbalanced body proportioning, forcing a very short front end and an elongated body. Bertone designed a lightweight, heavily glazed structure with eye-catching vents above the rear axle that continued in wide sipes above the rear window. The body is in unrestored original condition and was painted only once in vehicle life and has a charming patina.
